Sarah and James Wedding at the Swan Hotel

It was the second of our weddings this week. It’s been a busy month, peek season and the weather has made us work exceptionally hard this month to secure great photographs for our couples….but it’s paid off and we’ve had a fantastic month despite some very iffy weather! The weather was very changeable….but we were very fortunate that it only rained when we didnt’ need to go outside! other than that, we had a nice interesting sky and difussed light. The earlier rain brought out the colours and certainly added to our day! It was a very fun day and a real joy for us to photograph!

Sarah got ready at the Swan hotel, at the Whooper suite, each suite was named after a type of swan. The rooms were really nice and I loved the quirky layout of these old houses. There was a really lively and bubbly atmosphere in there, a combination of Sarah and Nikki having their make up and hair done….oh….so many lovely girls called Nikki! Jame’s Mum, Nikki, and two bridesmaids called Nikki….Lol! There’s an usher called Nick too….boy, this is gonna be confusing doing their formals photographs! Soon it was time for Sarah to get into her fabulous dress, with Linda on hand to assist. Sarah looked amazing n her dress, very elegant! Nikki and Nic got into their matching dresses and looked great, and we had just enough time for a quick pretend walking down the aisle and then it was time for them to depart  for the ceremony. We took the opportunity to take a few shots of Sarah and Richard before we departed for the ceremony too.

James was waiting anxiously with Steve…the room looked lovely and soon Sarah made her entrance on the arm of Richard. Gloucester registras are some of the best registras that we have worked with. they are very progressive with their photography rules and a realy joy to work with. The ceremony was well paced and a both a few tears and claps of joy through out their vowels and ring exchange. After signing of their registra it was time for Sarah and John to walk down the aisle as husband and wife. We had a short break for canapes and chit chat and then we photographed their big group shot and a great confetti shot. We took their formal photographs on the foot bridge and then split the boys from the girls and shot their Bridesmaids and Bridal party seperately to speed things up (while keeping an eye on the changing weather). We then concluded with a Bridal party group shot and then it was time for their grand entrance to their sumptuous Wedding breakfast…bang on time and just as the heavens opened! Their speeches were very witty, Richard was up first and then Jame made his address….but it was Steve who made us all laugh! Coffee was served and we took Sarah and John for some private portraits in the grounds…nice and close to the Swan hotel…as we were still worried about the weather. But things brightened up and we took the opportunity to shoot outside Arlington Row. A really nice set of photos and very easy to photograph Sarah and James! Their evening guests arrived and it was time for them to cut their cake and then have their first dance.
