Kelly and David’s Wedding at the Four Pillars Hotel Cotswold Water Park

We had a lot of fun photographing Kelly and David’s great wedding at the Four Pillars Hotel. As I look over the photographs that we shot, fun and happiness really summed up their day. The weather was good for us…right up to the point we wanted to photograph their formals! We managed to snuck in a large group shot and some small family shots and then the heavens opened and didn’t let up….but it didn’t hamper the fun and joyful mood.

Kelly was getting ready in one of the suites, and there was a real sense of calm and fun. Upbeat music thumping out of their iphone / bose system. While Heidi Vince took care of everyone’s hair, Kelly made sure everything was running to plan. Heidi did great job with everyone’s hair and made sure everyone looked gorgeous. Once all Kelly’s Bridesmaids were in their dresses, had their hair done and make up done, it was soon time for them to leave. Jennifer, Hana-Jo, Sally, Alana, Molly and Macey looked amazing in their matching and contrasting dresses. Before long it was time for Kelly to get into her dress. She looked amazing! We made our way through the accommodation complex and into the golf buggy to the Hotel where their ceremony was to be held.

We arrived at the registra’s room in good time and soon it was time for Kelly and her Bridesmaids to make their grand entrance into the Moorhen suite. Rose Petals and song accompanied Kelly as she walked down the isle. The ceremony was a well paced and well ordered event. A sign of experienced registrars. The ceremony was very moving, and many a tear was shed when Jennifer gave the her Eulogy…Nick and I caught each other’s eye and we were both so moved! It was one of those moments! There were tears of joy and a lot of laughter throughout their ceremony and it was thrilling to photograph. Throughout the ceremony, Chloe Jean sang and kept a gentle background mood very light and soothing. She was a real joy to hear. There was no photographs of signing of their register allowed, which is no problems and easily set up after. Before long, it was time for the very happy couple to walk down the isle hand in hand. A few drinks, canape’s and a bit of chit chat were in order next. Before long we ventured outside for their group shot and a few formal photographs….and then the heavens opened and the rain had begun. Not that it dampened anyone’s mood…although no one particularly wanted to go out side! We took some great shots of the bridesmaids using our fish-eye lens and soon it was time for their receiving line in the Kingfisher Suite. Service was prompt at 17:30pm and was in the usual Four Pillars Excellence. The calls for kissing were very amusing and the general atmosphere was very light and fun. Ron was first up for his speech. He gave a short and simple address but was perfectly judged and timed. David gave a witty speech, but it was Mark who gave the funniest and riske speech. At times we all worried where he was going but always ended on a great joke! Very funny and kept us on our toes!

We adjurned for coffee and a chance for guests to check in at the hotel. Leanne and I set up our studio flashes in the Marquee for the last set of their formal photographs. These went well and were quite fun, although it was getting very late in the day and I think we were all feeling a little tired. David and Kelly cut their cake just before their first dance, which is a great way to bring the crowd to you! A great Beetles tribute band played and rocked the place and soon it was time for their guests and family to twist, shout and dance the night away. While Leanne and I wrapped up and departed. It was a fun day and one filled with all kinds of emotions and a real privilege to photograph.
