Tia and David’s Crown Crucis Hotel Wedding

We had a really fun day photographing Tia and David’s wedding at the Crown Crucis Hotel in Ampney Crucis. The weather was quite a contrast from the previous day and was quite bright. Tia and David had arranged a relaxed and intimate civil wedding which was really fun. I started my day at Tia’s house where she was having her makeup and hair done, occasionally interupted by her very curious cat! After a number of great shots, I drove to the Crown Crucis for some photos of their guests arriving. Tia arrived soon after and made their way to her room where she could make her last preparations. All her sisters, mum and close friends were in the room, keeping the mood very fun and bubbly! Soon it was time to clear the room and Tia to put on her beautiful dress. Tia looked amazing in her dress! A few glasses of bubbly helped the mood too! I met David, Stephanie and Paul in the car park. All looking very well dressed and made their way to the ceremony room.

Tia entered the ceremony room and I spotted a number of tearful eyes from friends and family as she walked down the Aisle with her Dad, Peter. Who looked very proud of his daughter. The ceremony was well paced and very moving.  The registrar were very accommodating for us, allowing us free reign and a lot of trust. Naturally, we try to be unobtrusive as possible and with a strict no-flash policy. Tia had a slight trouble getting David’s ring on his finger which made an amusing moment during their ceremony. Soon it was their walk down the aisle as Mr and Mrs and greeted their guests as they left the lounge area. We had a short social break with drinkies in the lobby of the hotel. Tia and David left through the front entrance of the hotel, and it was the perfect moment for confetti to be thrown and it literally was an explosion! Which all made excellent confetti photographs! Tia and David led the way to the gardens and time for more drinkies and chit chat. We started their formal photographs, using the bridge over the nearby stream. These worked well, although I was a little anxious with the large group shot on the bridge…but it all went really well. We delivered the happy couple to the staff 10 minutes before time and soon their guests made their way to the re-arranged lounge for their wedding breakfast. Tia and David made an informal entrance and led the top table to their buffet. There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to the room and it was great to be warmly received among their friends and family.  Tia and David didn’t want speeches, so David gave a short thank you and then adjourned for coffee in the lobby and garden. I took Tia and David for some private photographs on the bridge and gardens which worked really well while their guests mingled and we caught up with their last few formal photographs. Soon it was time for their first dance and their guest flocked into the re-arranged lounge for first dance photos….it’s nice to see so many great Canon DSLR’s…I have to say good choice! Tia finished their dance with a fun kick back. It was a lovely day and filled with a lot of fun and a very relaxed mood through out.
